Guest Post by 9th & Elm: 5 Must-Haves for Summer by Elly Bethune

5 Must-Haves for  Summer  by Elly Bethune

All brands and items available for purchase on www.9thelm.com

1.    Brittany Davidson of BMDesigns, makes beautiful light weight things for the summer with an edge. This gorgeous 100% silk dress with a vegan leather dress underneath, is the perfect dress to wear to any summer party by the pool! The pencil skirt with a bustier bodice gives the dress a hugging fit, while the hand painted silk skirt gives a whimsical look in the wind. Perfect for any event!

2.    The Sqaud by Katherine, makes the perfect essential tee for summer! But these aren’t any basic tees, sweatshirts or tanks! They all have a lot of personality and an edge that makes you stand out from all the other tees in the sea. All are 100% cotton with silk screen printing, and offer you a relaxed fit with hand drawn images, like the Pedro Tank Chick.

3.    BeeLacy makes the coolest bandeaus I’ve seen in awhile. With bandeaus becoming more popular, it’s hard to re-invent a new look, but she has done it! Her designs are innovative and chic with a twist. Wear them under any sheer top or wear them as is with a high-waisted short, skirt or pant. Anything with a bow is a friend of mine!

4.    Uno Magnetic is the most simple, yet cool idea I’ve seen in awhile. I love accessories, especially jewelry, so to be able to mix and match every color under the rainbow in different ways, is such an amazing concept. You can truly make your own one-of-a-kind design, or follow their “how-to” top designs to create as well. With the ends magnetizing to anything or any chain, there are endless possibilities on how to wear it as a ring, necklace, bracelet, belt, headband and so much more!

5.    Ralph Pia can make a skirt! The concept I love most of her things for summer, is they have a nautical feel to them that is very trendy this time of year. Dress it up with a stiletto or pump, wear it out shopping with a flip-flop or wedge, or wear it as a cover-up to the pool. Either way you merchandise it, make it your own cool new look for the summer time.

STL Event: TRIBUTE Fashion Show

STL's best-in-show are hosting a night to remember. We'll be there - will you?

St. Louis-based fashion model management firm Mother Model Management has announced that, in collaboration with Next Model Management, Synergy Productions, and Alive Magazine, they will present an extraordinary fashion show and homecoming party, “Tribute”, on Saturday, November 17th in St. Louis, Missouri from 7:00pm to 11:00pm.  The event will mark the debut of Wonderland at the MX, a limited-engagement pop-up event space at 618 Washington Avenue, Suite 202.
"Our models have walked the runways of Dior, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton and they are coming home to celebrate their Midwest roots,”says owner Mary Clarke.
The evening will include a gallery of Mother Model discoveries, a vintage fashion show featuring Mother’s most successful models, and homecoming party to celebrate a decade of homespun success in St. Louis by Jeff and Mary Clarke.
Co-Producer Kelly Hummert Dhawan notes: “Jeff and Mary Clarke have, on their own terms, been putting St. Louis on the map in the world of high-fashion for over a decade.  They foster their models’ developments in such a compassionate, loving manner - a testament to their commitment to succeed in the fashion business at the highest level, but leading with their hearts.  Their models have had a very successful season, walking in New York, Milan, and Paris.  We are thrilled to create an opportunity for all of that spirit and energy to culminate on a runway back home in St. Louis.  This show will celebrate the soul of Mother Model Management: Gorgeous and jaw-dropping high-fashion design and aesthetic, but with sweet, Midwestern attitude.”
Faith Kates and Joel Wilkenfeld from Next Models shared that "Next Models have proudly worked with Jeff and Mary for many years and we are delighted to be supporting this amazing event. 'Tribute' is set to become a regular fixture on the mid-west fashion calendar to showcase Mother Models amazing achievements".

Tickets to the event are available for purchase at www.tributestl.com.  Ticketing is offered at the first-row level for $50, general admission seating for $30, and standing room for $20.  All ages are welcome - only guests 21 and older will be permitted to order alcoholic beverages.
